Beginners Crochet

  • Pennard House Shepton Mallet, England, BA4 6TP United Kingdom (map)

A beautiful, traditional craft that is centuries old - It’s never too late to start your journey into the wonderful world of crochet! Your tutor, Tracy Chapman, will be on hand to guide you through the basic techniques of this incredible craft.

Starting by working on small swatches, along the way you’ll be discussing all the technical things, such as the numerous types of wonderful yarn, how the different hook sizes can be utilised to create amazing work, plus take a look at simple commercial patterns that you might recognise. This is a truly ‘hands-on’ experience to be treasured and even after the course ends continued practice is encouraged! In fact, Tracy will not only bring a variety of sample yarns for you to work on during the day, but also some to take home when you leave.

Our home for the day will be the stunning surroundings of Pennard House, a Grade II listed manor house nestled in the idyllic Somerset countryside. The friendly team at Pennard will ensure you are well looked after throughout your visit with a beautiful 2-course lunch and refreshments, not to mention a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

All materials are included, but please do check our ‘What to Bring’ section below for a couple of additional items you’ll need to bring along yourself.
