Join us in the stunning surroundings of Haselbury Mill for a delicious 2-course lunch prepared using the very best local, seasonal ingredients. After lunch, we’ll be joined by art historian Richard Kay for a lecture about a true cornerstone of British life - The domestic garden.
We are proud and happy to be a nation of gardeners – but how did the domestic garden arise; why did it become so popular; and how well have artists captured the curious blend of hard work and relaxed contentment that a garden provides? This talk looks at the pictures as well as the social history that gives so many of us a love of our own herbaceous borders.
This lecture is suitable for all.
